Ruby anniversary

A colleague asked me to design the invitation to the ruby anniversary (40 years marriage) of her parents-in-law. She wanted the invitation to be classy but modern and cheerful, in a way that would suit the tenue de ville dresscode.

The text is handdrawn with pencil and then scanned in and edited in Photoshop, resulting in a nostalgic chalkboard effect. The little flowers were drawn with markers and also scanned in to decorate the front and form a festive pattern on the backside.
